The Kearsley Varsity girls had a Metro Conference Match against Swartz Creek on Wednesday, January 2nd at Richfield Bowl. The Lady Hornets entered the match at 5-0 on the season and Swartz Creek was 4-1 on the season so the match was for first place in the Metro Conference as they are heading into the mid point of the season. The Lady Hornets started the match with a Baker game of 211 to Swartz Creek’s 191 but Kearsley ran into some troubles in the 2nd Baker game as they had a 130 game to Swartz Creek’s 179 game. With the win the Lady Dragons took a 6 to 4 lead into the individual games as they beat Kearsley 370 to 341 in the Baker games. In the first individual game the Lady Hornets took control as they had a team game of 1049 to Swartz Creek’s 848 and Kearsley won all 9 points to take a 13 to 6 lead into the final team game. In the final team game the Lady Hornets didn’t let up as they had a team game of 975 to Swartz Creek’s 807. The total final pinfall for the match was Kearsley 2365 to Swartz Creek 2025 and the final score was 24 to 6 in favor of Kearsley. Kearsley’s next match is against Clio on Saturday, January 5th at Holly Lanes and then against Fenton at 11am on the same day.
