The Kearsley girls varsity bowling team has been set after try outs were held last week. The team finished the season ranked #3 in the state in Division 2 and they will be looking to run their winning streak in the Flint Metro Conference to 5 years straight. The varsity girls bowling team has not lost a league match in the last 4 years and they will again be fielding a very a strong team. Leading try outs this year was Sophomore Hannah Ploof who had a 290 game in try outs and finished with a 223 average, next was Junior Dani Doolan who averaged 215, following Dani was Junior Kayla Emmendorfer who averaged 210 and then Senior Becca Iversen who averaged 204, rounding out the top 5 was senior Katelynn Maxwell was averaged 203 for try outs. Sitting in the 6th position after try outs is a newcomer, senior Anna Rutledge who averaged 197, following Anna is Junior Teagan MacDonald who averaged 196 and the final spot on the varsity team went to Junior Morgan Stephen who averaged 194. The varsity girls will be opening the season on Saturday, December 7th at Town & Country Lanes at 2pm against another very good girls team from the Greater Flint Area when they bowl against Carman Ainsworth. The Carman Ainsworth girls team finished the season ranked #7 in the state in Division 1 and should be a great non conference match up to start the season. The Hornets first Metro Conference match of the season will take place on Tuesday, December 10th against Swartz Creek.
